How Leaders Find Strength in Valleys
Even as ministry leaders, we can find ourselves walking through valleys and wondering if there are any mountain tops ahead for us. Sometimes we can even question whether there’s hope in our valley. It might just be that you are struggling a bit with this right now.
It’s in the valley that your soul’s Enemy screams threats and taunts… intimidation is his greatest tactic. He believes that your God cannot save you in the valley, and wants you to believe the same.
In 1 Kings chapter 20 we find this, “…Thus saith the Lord, “Because the Syrians have said, ‘The Lord is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys’, therefore will I deliver all this great multitude into thine hand, and ye shall know that I am the Lord.”
The enemy says, “The Lord is God of the hills, but he is not God of the valleys”. Has he made you believe it?
If you’re feeling it now, know this… that every minister has felt it before, too. I certainly have. Some of the greatest voices of our generation and before us have testified of the darkest of valleys in their lives… the kind that make brave men crumble.
But please know this… The same God of your mountain top is also the God of your valley… And just like He did to the Syrians, He desires to prove it to you.
I hope your faith doesn’t fail you in the valley. He will deliver you, friend!
